Leather Problems

Locate your problem and type of leather for the recommended care solution:

(body fat, oil, chocolate, sauces, etc.)

Aniline Leather:

  • Treat the stain with Degreaser Spray. 
  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Treat the stain with Cleaning Set Active Plus.
  • Protect the leather with Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Treat the stain with Degreaser Spray.
  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N.

(e.g. beverage stains)

Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Cleaning Set Active Plus.
  • Protect Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Brush up the fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N

Colour Dye Transfer from clothing (e.g. Jeans)

Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Cleaning Set Active Plus.
  • Protect Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Brush up the fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N

Colour stains (pen ink, lipstick, nail polish, shoe polish)

Aniline Leather:

  • Remove the stain with Ballpoint Pen Remover II.
  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.
  • Restore any colour loss with Colour Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Remove stains up to 5 days old with Magic Ink Roller I Plus.
  • For older stains use the Ballpoint Pen Remover II.
  • Protect Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Remove the stain with Ballpoint Pen Remover.
  • Brush up the fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N.

Stains caused by solvents (nail polish remover, window cleaner, etc)

Aniline Leather:

  • Dab the edges of the stain with Ballpoint Pen Remover II.
  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.
  • Restore any colour loss with Colour Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • If the solvent has damaged the leather surface (giving a mat look) restore using the Top Finish Spray.
  • Alternately contact a leather repair professional, especially if the damage is severe.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Dab the edges of the stain with Ballpoint Pen Remover.
  • Brush up the fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N

Stains caused by urine

Aniline Leather:

  • If still wet instantly soak up excess liquid with paper towel or absorbent cloth and then cover with talcum powder for 1-2 hours.  Do not try to clean with water.
  • Remove stain immediately with Soft Cleaner or Strong Cleaner.
  • Spray with Upholstery Fresh Up.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • If still wet soak up excess liquid with paper towel or absorbent cloth and use talcum powder to absorb any remaining moisture.
  • Remove stain with Cleaning Set Active Plus.
  • Spray with Upholstery Fresh Up.
  • Protect with Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • If still wet soak up excess liquid with paper towel or absorbent cloth and use talcum powder to absorb excess dampness.  Vacuum talcum powder to fully remove.
  • Remove stain with Strong Cleaner.
  • Brush up fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Spray with Upholstery Fresh Up.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N

Stains caused by blood and other proteins

Aniline Leather:

  • Remove stain IMMEDIATELY with Soft Cleaner or Strong Cleaner.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.
  • If the stain has been left too long or cannot be removed contact a leather care specialist.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Remove stain IMMEDIATELY with Cleaning Set Active Plus.
  • Protect with Care Lotion P.
  • If the stain has been left too long or cannot be removed contact a leather care specialist.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Remove stain IMMEDIATELY with Soft Cleaner or Strong Cleaner.
  • Brush up fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N

Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Soft Cleaner.
  • Apply Leather Balm.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Soft Cleaner.
  • Apply Leather Balm.
  • Protect with Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Soft Cleaner.
  • Apply Nubuck Care Lotion.
  • Brush up fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N.

Slightly faded leather and small scratches

Aniline Leather:

  • Clean the leather with Strong Cleaner.
  • Restore colour with Colour Lotion A.
  • Protect with Care Lotion A.

Pigmented / Semi-Aniline Leather:

  • Clean with Cleaner Active Plus.
  • Restore colour with Colour Lotion P.
  • Protect with Care Lotion P.

Nubuck/Suede Leather:

  • Clean with Soft Cleaner as needed.
  • Treat with Colour Repair Set N.
  • Brush up fibres with Cleaning Cloth N.
  • Protect it with Protection Spray N.
